Tata Steel wanted to position itself as a leader in making the steel industry more sustainable and to strengthen its dialogue with Dutch and European policymakers regarding tailored agreements. It was up to Castro to firmly place the future of the steel industry on the political agenda.
Castro developed and organized two policy events: one in The Hague and one in Brussels. In The Hague, we brought together policymakers, experts, and the business community to discuss the importance of consistent industrial policy and green investments.

Result
Through these two Policy Events, the same message was highlighted at both the national and European levels: sustainability and competitiveness must go hand in hand to secure the future of the steel industry. At the same time, the events facilitated direct dialogue among relevant policymakers, experts, and industry representatives.
