How do you secure funding and visibility for a critical European project when European policymaking is changing rapidly? ICL asked Castro to help position the project with policymakers and engage relevant stakeholders in securing funding for a vital project for sustainable transportation in Europe.
Approach
Castro began by analyzing the impact of relevant EU legislation and the European funding landscape. In doing so, we identified which other funds ICL might be eligible for and which developments in Brussels were relevant to the company. At the same time, we conducted a comprehensive stakeholder analysis of the relevant European decision-makers, including a plan for introductions and networking opportunities.
Result
This approach led to several high-level meetings in Brussels, including with industry executives and a prominent member of the European Parliament. This strengthened ICL’s position in the financing process.
