Lobbying & Communications Intern

Are you looking for an internship where you’ll be fully integrated into a professional lobbying and communications team? Where you won’t just be observing, but will be given responsibility and work for companies like Uber, Corendon, Airbnb, and ProRail? Starting in September 2026, Castro has an opening for an intern to join both the lobbying and communications teams. Applications are accepted until June 8, 2026.

What is Castro doing?

Castro is a fast-growing communications and lobbying firm in Amsterdam. We help companies with strategic communications, lobbying, and stakeholder management, as well as organizing (policy) events—and we do so independently, transparently, and with a positive attitude. Our lobbying team works for clients including Pathé Thuis, Airbnb, Johnson & Johnson, and Flink. The communications team advises clients such as Uber, Corendon, ProRail, Familiebedrijven Nederland, Erasmus MC, and SpiritsNL on their communications strategies and supports them in implementing these strategies.

What are you going to do?

Examples of tasks:

  • Political Monitoring
  • Conducting Stakeholder Analyses
  • Support for policy events
  • Writing press releases, press invitations, and other communication materials
  • Press selection for press kits, invitations, media pitches, and more
  • Monitoring the media and identifying opportunities for our clients
  • Supporting the implementation of communication strategies

Who are we looking for?

Our intern:

  • Is curious and motivated to learn
  • Is interested in communication, media, and politics
  • Enjoys making a tangible contribution to supporting a wide variety of clients
  • Preferably, you are pursuing a degree in political science, communication, public administration, or a similar field, but we are certainly open to other fields of study, such as public administration
  • Must have strong written and oral Dutch skills; proficiency in English is a plus
  • Is available for at least six months
  • Is available for at least 32 hours per week
  • Enjoys taking on responsibility and thrives in a dynamic work environment
  • Loves a good time
